Transform For Windows System Requirements

  • A Pentium Processor

  • 512 MB of RAM minimum

  • Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later (before installing .NET Framework)

  • Microsoft .NET Framework version 4 (included in stall package)

  • Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768

  • Minimum color quality 24 bits

  • Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 administrative privileges for installation

  • About 16 MB free disk space (250 MB if .Net Framework not already installed)

  • Retail license: An active internet connection during the initial registration process

  • Trial license: An active internet connection each time the application is started

Install Transform for Windows (see help for dial-up users)

  1. See the special instructions below for downloading and installing Transform if you experience difficulties.
  2. logon to your computer as an system administrator (not necessary for Windows Vista users)
  3. verify that your computer is up-to-date with the most current Microsoft Windows Updates
  4. click the download link above an select Save button on the download dialog
  5. At the top of the "Save As" dialog, click the "Save In" dropdown box and select Desktop
  6. Find the setup file on the desktop and double click it to start the installation process
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process

Starting Transform for Windows the first time

  1. Insure that your computer has an active internet connection (only needed once for retail versions).
  2. Click the Windows Start button->All Programs->PrimaCode Transformation->Transform for Windows.
  3. The first time Transform is started, you will be presented with a Product Activation dialog.
  4. Fill in the product registration information. Leave the activation key blank for trial installations.
  5. Retail users copy and paste the activation code your received from PrimaCode into the activation code box
  6. Click either the Register Trial button or Register Retail button, depending on if you have an activation key.
  7. If activation is completed successful, a license file specific to your computer will be placed in a public folder for Transform.
  8. Thereafter, retail users can run Transform without an active internet connection, trial users will need an active internet connection.
  9. Activation sends your user information to PrimaCode's server, so if your firewall blocks the registration process, activation will fail and Transform will not start. If that happens, you will need to configure your firewall to temporarily allow Transform access to the internet.

Transform License Manager:

Transform has a built in license manager that works in concert with PrimaCode's server to manage trial and retail activations. If you experience difficulties activating the software for any reason, please contact PrimaCode for assistance. While activation of the retail product requires an active internet connection, thereafter it can be used without one.

Special instructions for downloading and installing Windows Updates and Transform for Windows

if you encounter problems downloading Windows Updates or Transform's setup program, please try the following:

  • Check your security settings in the Windows Control Panel's Internet Options  to make sure they are no higher than Medium. Alternatively, you can add http://www.primacode.com to your Trusted Sites list and again, make sure the security settings are no higher than Medium.

  •  You must be the Administrator or a member of the Administrators Group to download files. Please make sure that you are logged into your computer with administrative permissions.

  • If you have a third party firewall installed on your computer, you will need to adjust the settings to allow you to download files from our site or temporarily disable the firewall. If your computer is behind a corporate firewall, this could also cause a problem. Since some file wall do not block ZIP files, you can also try download the ZIP file that contains Transform's setup file.

Before installing Windows Updates, make sure to disable any personal antivirus programs running on your computer. While this is generally not accepted practice, installing operation system updates directly from Microsoft can safely be considered an exception to that rule. If you do not disable antivirus programs, installing the Windows Updates (including Microsoft .Net Framework) can take unusually long periods of time and in some instances will make your computer appear to lock up. You easily verity that the system is not locked up by checking the CPU Usage using Windows Task Manager (ctrl-Alt-Delete, Task Manager, Performance Tab). If you already started the install without first disabling your antivirus program, do not interrupt the install process, it will complete eventually.
